When I was young each Sunday we went to Sunday school, church, movie, and home to relax. I have great memories of those days. I learned a lot in Sunday school and had friends that I only met on Sunday. We went to the military base for all those events, and the movies had only one movie playing. So some of the movies were boring, but it also got me to watch some I would never watch. I really enjoyed our lazy day, the last few years of my youth it was just me and mom. We had so much fun, she even taught at Sunday school.
Today I quickly attend church, and then back home for projects. I jump from project after project and end the day with a dinner, sometime late. Finally I find a few moments to relax and watch a movie. Once I sit down everyone runs to do their thing.
It’s sad I have not given my children the memories of resting and enjoying life together. I am always talking about joy and love but we are not spending our day of rest together. I think something need to change and I need to refocus on sharing those times together and stop worrying about projects. I will change to do projects on Saturday and Sunday will go back to a day of joy and love.
How about you…Join in with me to change the rushing of activities. Nobody will remember those projects and what I did, but they will remember a day of rest.
Much Joy and Love to you and yours
