Whatever occurred yesterday is only a lesson for today. You cannot change it you can only learn from it. I really don’t get why people hang on to the past or discuss it as if you can change it. One thing that will get me upset is when people want to point out something you or someone else did wrong years ago. The funny part is most of the times those events are not even correct. The true facts and details are lost over time and not even worth debating. There was a time I would debate those old events, but over time I let them go and let them think they have it right. What is the point of correcting them?
Its like the story of the two monks traveling. As they journeyed they came to a small river with a woman standing on the shore. She cried to the monks that she needed to cross over, but could not swim. One of the monks carried her to the other side. As they continued their journey the one monk questioned why the other was being so quiet. The one monk blasted him for picking up that woman and reminded him of their mission and not to touch a woman. The monk who carried the woman said, I put her down two hours ago and you are still carrying her.
I have always told my children when you do wrong I will correct you, but the next moment it is forgotten. One time one of the older boys said he was sorry the next day. I said for what, and he said for what I did yesterday. I said, oh I completely forgot about that event.
Focus on joy and love. Thank the past for the lessons, tell the future you’re ready, and Thank God for another chance.
Much joy and love to you and yours
