It will take me some time to get into bloging more often. The time flies by so fast. You know the normal day of getting kids out the door to school, then getting myself out to work. Then back home to make dinner, listen to stories about the day and helping with homework. Then its 10pm, just where does all the time go.
The past weekend was a little slow, besides shopping for food and cleaning, I decided to fix that cooktop. It just drove me crazy that one of the burners would not always work. So, I had the quick answer I replaced the wiring, I was so happy I had the every burner working perfect. While making dinner I noticed a little spark. Then nothing worked, ugh. Good thing I was almost complete with dinner. I didn’t say a thing, just dinner time. Saturday s are kind of wild with dinner time, a few will come right away the rest of dinner can take a few hours. There was a time I would put all the left overs away in nice containers. Then the next morning I would see all the containers in the sink, again ugh. Well now I just leave it out and sometimes I come down to a fully cleaned kitchen and other times just empty pots.
The next day I figured I better get that cooktop working, I don’t want to wait. Well, I started taking it all apart and found more loose wires, I tried my patch job. No luck it failed again. I figured it had to do with the switches, and when I looked on line I figured out it will cost me more for the parts to fix it, and I was not sure if those were the right parts, then it would cost for a new one. Well, nobody had cooktops in stock, you had to order it and wait a week, ugh. I quickly figured out a very simple solution, I will get one of those two burner things at Walmart. I picked it up and some other food, I decided today will be Irish day for the meal. Just as I was cutting up some stuff my daughter said will we have a big Irish Dinner on Tuesday. I said, no today is the day for the party.
That was when she told me about her aunt waiting to come over the for party. I told her call her back up and tell her to come today. I was sure I had enough for everyone. Well, I slow cooked everything and enjoyed watching some basketball with the kids. I enjoy March madness, all the colleges playing one and out and seeing them enjoy the games. Dinner time, just about 12 people this Sunday. During dinner I was talking about the cook top and my sister looked up one for sale. It seemed to be a good match. We talked about a few trips coming up and decided to go see a movie. Off to see unbroken, It is a very good movie to watch and learn from.
I know I have had my share of ups and downs, but this guy really hit some hard times. He just keep going and remained strong enough to put up with everything he had to deal with. Really good story for everyone to learn from and don’t let things get you that upset. There is always another day and another way. See you soon.
