For many of years each fall I would fill up the van with clothes and toys the kids no longer needed. My wife at that time would take them to someone and never told me who. I always felt good that someone could use those items. One time someone told me I should sell all those things and have extra cash, I simply said I receive something much better from giving the items away.
Then a few years ago one of our friends passed away. The service was at his sister’s house in the mountains of West Virginia. I could tell they did not have much, but they shared a service and lunch with all you cared for her brother. His sister and a few others hugged me and thanked me. I was puzzled and asked why are you thanking me. Then they told me the story about how every fall they received a bunch of bags of clothes and toys. When they were received she told everyone to come and pick out what they needed. To them it was like Christmas morning.
You never know how your simple acts of caring for others are received. Its like throwing a stone in the pond, the ripples spread out and cover the entire pond. Your acts of caring for others spreads out to all the world. Pay it forward with caring for others.
Much joy and love to you and yours
