The only day I was talking to a friend about change and he told me about this college that tried to change the pattern of the walk way. At first they decided to just change the walk way and put down a new path to the classes. At the same time they planted new grass and everything looks all so wonderful. As the students arrived for the next semester, some noticed the nice new walk way and grass and liked the change. Others decided to take the short cut and cut across the grass. One smart supervisor said, let them continue to create new path, and then we will put in some new walk ways.
That story is a good start for identifying our paths, but not truly about changing them. You see we often do read or hear about a new path in life and want to change, but we don’t. You will fall back into those old patterns within days. Its just like a diet, you can lose the weight, but if you don’t change the pattern for good you will go back to your old ways.
Take some time and review what you truly want to change and the way you truly desire to live. Then study your patterns in life. Now review how you can make small adjustments and blend them into your life. You will start to slowly change and your dream life will be your new pattern.
