We all set intentions all day long, most of those intentions are automatic and from our sub conscience mind. Over the course of life we set those little intentions. It could be as simple as getting to school or work on time to something bigger like completing a task or project. The interesting part about those intentions are when you complete one you will feel joy, but if you don’t you will feel depressed. It’s like out of nowhere you feel down, sometimes it’s because you missed one of those sub conscience intentions.
Those intentions come from when you go into automatic action or just going with the flow. We all fall into that mode of operations where we simply are doing as told or just want to relax in your comfort zone. I have fallen into that mode of life too. I would do it around the house and office and at the end of the week I would wonder where the week went. It’s like getting in a car with the intention of going somewhere and never starting the car. You need to break out of automatic mode.
I started out small, simply setting an intention for a meeting or reading a book. At work I took a weekly hour long meeting, changed it to setting an intention for the meeting. When we focused on the intention the meetings were completed in 15 minutes. When I set an intention with reading, I was more focused and open to learn. The new small intentions were working better than ever and I felt more in control. They allowed me to focus and take action. The key is action and change. If you don’t take the action, setting intentions will not help.
Then there are those really big intentions. They are huge like starting a business, getting a house, married, having kids, trips, etc. Those intentions are too big to wrap your mind around completely. They are great and you can enjoy the concept, but the trick is to take action. One trick is to see your intention, than break it down to actions to reach it. If its business your first question should be what services does your business perform. Who do you serve and where do you conduct business. Take your dream and start developing the pieces and over time you will have your business.
So you see if you don’t set intentions for the day or your life, you will be given intentions which could upset you. It is much better to set your intentions and take action. Think of your intention in the beginning of the day or week. At the end of the day check yourself on results. If you missed the mark, its ok just works on it the next day. Sometimes your intentions need to start smaller, break it down and over time it will work for you. Achieving your intentions will bring you much joy and love. Have a blessed day.
