The idea of getting more done in less time is so old and yet people think they just came up with the concept. It really doesn’t matter if the job is in the office or home, organization and quality are keys to ever getting anything completed. Oh sure you can rush the job and get it done in half the time, then spent twice that amount of time fixing what you rushed.
To be honest I have more projects at home then I will ever be able to complete. At the same time I have a family to enjoy, food to cook, and a job to go to, so I review the jobs then prioritization delegate and assign. I don’t rush my projects at home but put quality in them. I do the same at work, the focus is always on providing quality services.
We can also apply this concept with life. Do you ever feel life is going by so fast you wonder where all the years have gone? I know I look at my son a senior in high school and think, wow it seems like I was a senior myself just a few years ago. I seemed to have gone into this flow of life, rushing to jobs, getting advancements, raising a family, doing school work, birthdays, holidays, ect…
It’s kind of like that old song Cat's In The Cradle, we rush to do it all and our children learn to do the same. We have too many things to do and forget about spending that quality time with the family. It’s time to get back to the basics. Work is work and I am a firm believer when you’re at work you should be totally focus on the job and work hard. However, at the end of the day sign off and enjoy your family. The projects at home, prioritize them and don’t try to do them all. Set special time to enjoy your family.
Your true joy and love is waiting for you to spend time with them. Watching one of their shows or talking about their day. It seems to me when I put that new focus on my family time has slowed down and I enjoy them all that more.
