When I was a child I had parents and teachers fill me with confidence so I could do great things. They believed in me and supported me with my issue. When I was a child I had a speech problem, which was a result from a medical condition. There were so many words I just could not say correctly. When I was asked to read in class some of those words would come up and sure enough I would totally say them wrong. All the kids would laugh, at first it would really hurt. Well in comes the confidence and support.
My mother and special teachers would spend hours with me to help me speak better. They gave me confidence to speak up and tools to speak better or change words I could say. I really got so much better and confident, when kids tried to bug me about a word they knew I could not say, I would laugh. With self-confidence I took on the world of my peers and stood tall.
The greatest gift you can give to your child or children you know is the gift of confidence. Tell them words of support and belief in them. Build them up to believe in themselves and push away any hurtful thoughts from others. Shower them with your joy and love as they grow into wonderful confident people.
Much joy and love to you and yours
