The East Coast of the USA is planning for a major storm this weekend. This reminds me of my old days supporting disaster recovery with FEMA. We would set up exercised to plan the response plan for real events. A few times I sat in the situation room watching the storm approach and setting up the teams to go with aide to repair that area. Back in those days nobody could do anything until after the event. Over time we worked it out to prepare before it hit and educate people to prepare.
The storms of weather I believe we have become better with preparing and responding to. The storms of life for the most part we cannot always prepare for. It could be an accident, an illness, failed relationships, etc. You don’t prepare to deal with those storms they just hit you with a surprise. Sometimes family or friends will come to you trying to give you support, however, when they leave it still is you dealing with the emotions of the storm. That is when you need to turn from fear and lost to hope and change. You turn and find anything that brings you up and grow on that little speck of joy and love. You continue focusing on the sun coming out and seek a new day.
I know it’s hard to overcome the storms, but you will find your way to joy and love again. One thing I did learn in my disaster management efforts, it took over 20 organizations to recover. My recovery of storms also took multiple attempts, I never gave up I just tried another way. Over time my sun came back out and I was singing and dancing again. You too will get over your storms.
Much joy and love to you and yours
