She told me while I enjoy the challenge of taking more advanced courses, she just preferred to excel in regular courses. She had her friends and was enjoying school and saw no need to take advanced courses. As we continued our conversation I learned she really had a plan and was performing very well. Her plan was to teach and help kids excel. I had always thought about advancing to higher levels of knowledge, but she had a much better plan.
She taught me that week how to support other people. She was more interested in learning new ways of teaching the basic courses and helping people excel. She planned to show them they can do anything if you put your mind to it. She planned on helping the average person get excited about school and how to get good grades. She planned on helping that kids stuck in the back row and too shy to speak. Her list of plans were truly amazing.
Yes, my friend Sue taught me a lesson I learned for life. It’s all about helping others where they are not where you think they should be. Sue was ahead of her time, years later when I saw the movie Lean on Me, I thought they need Sue at that school. It took a hard principal to get everyone to support those kids, and in the end they all did help them. Those kids would walk away from school confident they could do anything and felt someone really cared for them.
The life of joy and love is all about supporting others where they are and not judging them for where you want them to me. Go out and hug a person and help them with life as they live it.
Much Joy and Love to you and yours
