Many years ago I was going on a day business trip to a site just a few hours away. One lady asked for a ride, so I picked her up at her house and we drove. At first she was just talking about work and the meeting we were going to, and then she asked the big question. She asked, “Why are you afraid to fly?”
I laughed and said, “Where did you ever get an idea like that, I have close to a million miles in the air.”
She then said, “Then why do you seem to drive everywhere for business, you even drove to Maine a few weeks ago?”
I laughed again and said, “I am going through a major change in my life and need the time to think and also to listen to some programs to recover from the divorce I am going through.”
She confided in me that she also went through a divorce, and the rest of the trip she offered help and we discussed ways to fully recover and enjoy life again.
Do you see how not telling the truth can create new stories for others? I learned telling the truth and not hiding behind it freed me in new ways. It is not easy to hide behind the truth you need to share with those close to you, they will help you or lead to you someone that can help you.
Much joy and love to you and yours
